In the order that they finished in 2022 constructors standings

Max Verstappen

A phenomenal title defence by the dutchman in a more composed and professional manner. One of the most successful and dominate seasons from himself and the Redbull outfit since Seb Vettel back in 2013.

Rating 10 out of 10

Sergio Perez

A more improved season, Checo really has cemented his seat at Red Bull as well as picking up race wins in Monaco & at Singapore, he is their perfect no.2 at the team.

Rating 9 out of 10

Charles Leclerc

After making a promising start for the Italian outfit it all capitulated for him especially when he crashed out of the French GP and suffering reliability issues. However, if Ferrari can sort out their technical issues for 2023 then there is no doubt Charles can challenge Max for the title in 2023.

Rating 8 out of 10

Carlos Sianz

What went wrong for Carlos this season?! Nowhere near the same Carlos who was consistently outscoring Leclerc last year. Despite picking up the win at Silverstone, reliability problems as well, he was always playing 2nd fiddle at Ferrari.

Rating 6 out of 10

George Russell

An impressive debut by George not only to outscore his own teammate (7 time world champion Lewis Hamilton) but to outscore Sianz in the standings is well is why he’ll be the no1 driver at that team soon.

Rating 9 out of 10

Lewis Hamilton

After a ropey start, Lewis proved with his experience that he’s not retiring from the sport anytime soon. Picking up close race wins at America and Mexico shows that there’s life in the old dog just yet.

Rating 8 out of 10

Esteban Ocon

Will the real Esteban please stand up? In all seriousness he has finally found his comfort zone at Alpine. Will he be able to cement his authority with the team when he pairs up with Gasly to create an all  French line up in 2023? Guess we’ll find out soon.

Rating 8 out of 10

Fernando Alonso

Has to be one of the unluckiest drivers on the grid with the amount of DNF’s he received this season. Nevertheless, he shows that give him a quick car he can still deliver the results. I just hope that he has made the right move to Aston Martin

Rating 8 out 10

Lando Norris

Another hard-earned performance by Lando. Pushed that car to the limits including getting McLaren’s only podium of the season at Imola. Defiantly someone to watch out for once his contract runs out at McLaren.

Rating 8 out 10

Daniel Riccardo

A sorry end for the honey badger this season. I’m sure many fans would like to see him return to the sport but it will more be likely in a reserve role and not on a full-time basis.

Rating 4 out of 10

Valtteri Bottas

Similar to his days at Williams Bottas has felt more relaxed whenever this is no pressure on him and he proved that this season at Alfa Romero. With multiple top 10 finishes including a 5th place finish at Imola he cemented Alfa to their best finish since returning back to the sport in 2019.

Rating 7 out of 10

Zhou Guanyu

Marred with terrible bad luck with engine issues marred as well by that horrific crash at Silverstone. Hopefully for him things will turn in his favour next season.

Rating 6 out of 10

Seb Vettel

A quiet season for the 4-time world champion has he bows out from the sport. Comprehensively out shining his teammate once again.

Rating 7 out of 10

Lance Stroll

Did progressed as the season went but personally still don’t think he can be the number 1 driver at that team especially with Fernando Alonso as his teammate for 2023.

Rating 5 out of 10

Kevin Magnussen

A solid performance from K Mag after taking a short break away from the sport.

Rating 7 out of 10

Mick Schumacher

A far better season although marred with too many driver enforced crashes a thing which he would pay the price for as it cost him his seat at Haas.

Rating 5 out of 10

Pierre Gasly

Arguably his worst season for AT in a young time. Off to pastures new where he faces new challenge as he leaves the Red Bull programme to pair up with Ocon at Alpine.

Rating 5 out of 10

Yuki Tsunoda

A slight improvement compared to last season but bit like Mick he needs to be more consistent on the track and do less errors. On his last chance with Alpha Tarui, you would imagine.

Rating 5 out of 10

Alex Albon

A good return back to F1 in arguably the slowest car on the gird this season. Hopefully he’ll get another crack at that Red Bull seat within the next few years.

Rating 7 out of 10

Nicholas Latifi

Still feeling that psychological effects from crashing out of the season finale in Abu Dahbi last year and never fully recovered from it. Best for him he moves on from the sport and look into to other ventures from with the motorsport genre.

Rating 3 out of 10

Honourable Mentions

Nico Hulkenberg

Came in as a stand in for Sebastian Vettel after he got tested positive for covid before the opening race at Bahrain. Finished P17 and P12 in Saudi Arabia & for his reward he’ll be racing for Haas in 2023 replacing Mick Schumacher.

Rating 6 out of 10

Nyck De Vries

Got the call up to Williams after Alex Albon was ruled out with appendicitis before the third practice session. Finished a brilliant P9 which he will be racing with Alpha Tauri next season.

Rating 8 out of 10
