This gap increased by over 20 seconds at the halfway point of the day you’ve thought that this would be an easy day for the current Irish Tarmac Rally Champion.

In warm conditions, the second loop continued at pace with Devine quickest on the second loop of stages. He claimed the fast time again on stage 6 and took the overall lead. Moffett responded on Stage 7 and regained it back off from Devine.

Stage 8 and the lead went back to Devine and there was nothing to separate them as it was 0.3 of a second going into the final stage of the event.

On Stage 9 they gave it there all. Both drivers on hot form as we go into the Donegal International Rally wanted to grab that win as it would gain them a psychologic advantage.

In the end Josh Moffett reigned supreme. Claiming the stage win and winning the event by just 1.8 seconds.

Desi Henry & Codriver Paddy Robinson finished a distant third. Cathan McCourt/Barry McNulty was forth & David Kelly/Shane Buckley completed the top five finishers.

Kevin Eves & Chris Melly won the modified section and finished eighth overall. An honourable mention to Gary Kiernan who would normally compete in his MK2 Escort switched to R5 machinery in this event finished 16th.
