Elliot Payne claimed a stunning victory to get the better on Matthew Hirst to win the Nicky Grist Stages Event on Saturday (8th July). Arron Newby & Jamie Edwards completed the overall top 3 positions in his Škoda Fabia R5 a further minute behind Hirst.

In his Ford Fiesta Rally2, Payne won by nearly 8 seconds over Hirst however seeing Payne did not enter in the Welsh Rally Championship seeding, Hirst won the Welsh Class to further extend his championship lead and bring him one step closer to defending his crown.

His nearest championship rival Ross Thompson in his Evo 9 finished second and forth overall, 90 seconds slower than Matthew Hirst in his far superior Ford Fiesta R5.
