TV presenter Pamela Ballantine has urged women to have breast screening tests done, as she reveals she was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.

The broadcaster said she received successful chemotherapy treatment following the diagnosis and is due to continue radiotherapy.

Ms Ballantine would be a local favourite in regards to local motorsport coverage.

Before On The Limit, we had RPM. The show was first broadcast in the early 90’s and covered all the rounds from the Irish Tarmac Championship. The show was produced by Plum Tyndall and his team.

She also presented a special RPM Programme covering the funeral of the late Bertie Fisher. The show was then axed in 2013.

Since then she has continued working for UTV which she is currently presenting UTV Life, which airs every Friday evening.

We wish Pamela a speedy recovery and hopefully we’ll be seeing her on TV sooner rather than later.
