The FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem stopped off in Ireland to visit the parents of rally driver Craig who died last April.
“Touching visit to Ireland to spend some time with Ray and Jackie Breen and honor the memory of their WRC star son Craig”
Mohammed Ben Sulayem
With these words the president of the International Automobile Federation Mohammed Ben Sulayem accompanied the tweet with which he sealed his trip to Ireland in the country of Craig Breen, the rally driver who tragically died on 13 April in Lobor in Croatia.
At the beginning of the season, the Hyundai driver had finished the Swedish Rally in second place behind Ott Tanak, thus equaling his best WRC result and on the occasion of the fatal accident he was engaged in a test session ahead of the Croatian Rally, the fourth round of the 2023 championship.
Breen died following an unfortunate impact against a wooden post of a fence that broke through the side window, fatally hitting him . His co-driver James Fulton was unhurt.
