Kris Meeke & Brian Hoy won the penultimate round of Portugal’s Rally Championship after clinching the win on the final stage this weekend.

After the three opening stages on Friday evening Kris Meeke held second overnight nearly 8 seconds behind leader Araujo.

On Saturday morning the pair where on the attack. They took the fastest time on SS4 time to take the overall lead. Meeke took 9.5s out of Armindo Araujo on the stage to lead by 1.7s overall.

The two way battle between Armindo Araujo and Kris Meeke looked to continue throughout day two, with both drivers swapping fastest times.

Kris Meeke was back in the front seat by the fastest time on SS7. Armindo Araujo continued to trade fastest times with Kris Meeke to take the lead by 0.6s after SS8.

With stage 9 cancelled due to an accident it all came down to the final stage. Kris Meeke & Brian hoy took the win by claiming victory through the 1.8km super special stage. Taking the stage win and the overall win by 1.8s.

Armindo Araujo claimed second with fellow Portuguese driver José Pedro Fontes taking a distant third.
