Jason Pritchard and Phil Clarke produced a storming Saturday afternoon to take victory at round 6 of the FUCHS UK British Historic Rally Championship.
In the opening night stage, Lepley/Bowen set the pace in the Galant but a heroic time from Perez/McElhinney in the 911 put them out front. Pritchard/Clarke had a scrappy run in second with James/Petrie picking up where they left off at the Woodpecker in third.
In the title race, Chilman/Walsh outpace Elliott/Price by just over 3s. Five stages await them on Saturday with the high speed Yorkshire tests providing the perfect battleground for our FUCHS UK contenders.
As the stages progressed Pritchard pounced. He moved into the lead – but only just! He was 1s to the good over Perez whilst Elliott remains third and close to ensuring the title fight goes to Carlisle.
Pritchard and Co-Driver Phil Clarke grind their way on the final stage to get the victory and get their second win of the season.
Matthew Robinson claimed second with Steve Bannister taking that final podium positions. Seb Perez eventually couldn’t keep up with the pace in his historic 911 and finished fifth overall but claimed Category 2 class.
Elliot finished forth while Chillman got seventh to ensure that the title fight will go to the final event of the season.
