Five-time World Rally Championship event winner Kris Meeke will join Oliver Solberg in contesting the Roger Albert Clark Rally in the UK this November.
Leading WRC2 driver Solberg was announced last week, while the Northern Irishman’s entry in a Wales Motorsport-prepared Ford Escort Mk2 has been confirmed today.
After a few years away from regular rallying, Meeke has made something of a comeback this year – contesting the Portuguese Rally Championship this season for Hyundai in tribute to the late Craig Breen.
Meeke will be in top form going into the event. Meeke & Brian Hoy won the penultimate round of Portugal’s Rally Championship after clinching the win on the final stage earlier this month.
Previous winners of the Roger Albert Clark Rally include 1984 World Rally champion Stig Blomqvist, five-time British Rally champion Jimmy McRae, M-Sport managing director Malcolm Wilson and Irishman Marty McCormack who, with three victories, is the most successful driver in the rally’s history.
This year’s event runs on November 23-27.
