Hyundai Motorsport provided official confirmation that Ott Tänak will re-join the team for the 2024 FIA World Rally Championship season.
Tänak, 35, achieved nine victories whilst employed by the Korean marque between 2020 and 2022 but jumped ship to join M-Sport Ford, the team where he had started his WRC career, for the 2023 season.
The Estonian, alongside co-driver Martin Järveoja, scored his second Puma Rally1 at Rally Chile Bio Bío last week. However, once he has completed this year’s remaining two rallies, Tänak is on the move again.
So the next question now is who will replace him at M-Sport? We have picked a few who can.
Seb Ogier – Won the 2018 drivers title at M-Sport. Nothing has been confirmed at he will drive for Toyota next season.
Adrien Fourmaux – Been in amazing form for M-Sport in the British Rally Championship season which of course he won the drivers title.
Oliver Solberg – A dark horse for sure but his father did drive for the team alongside with Colin McRae & he’s in the running for the WRC2 title.
Esapekka Lappi – Could possibly be squeezed out of a full time seat with Tanak back in the fold and might want to look at other options to securing a full time drive next season.
Seb Loeb – Would be an amazing moment but looks very unlikely.
