Kris Meeke served up a driving masterclass in the Carlisle Stages to claim the historics victory at Scotland in his MK2 Escort alongside Noel O’Sullivan.

He led from start to finish to win the event by over 14 seconds over his nearest challenger Jason Pritchard & Phil Clarke.

He managed to finish 2nd overall in which Elliot Payne & Morton Jack comfortably won the event in their Fiesta Rally 2 Car.

Meeke was using the event as a warm-up for the following month’s five-day Roger Albert Clark Rally – a marathon event that cris-crosses England, Scotland and Wales.

Organisers have already confirmed that, following a ceremonial start in Carmarthen on the evening of November 22, 33 special stages totalling 350 competitive miles stand in front of crews and the finish line in Carlisle the following Monday afternoon, making it the UK’s longest stage rally in more than 30 years.

Elsewhere Roger Chilman and Patrick Walsh took this years British Historic Rally title when Nick Elliott and Dave Price lose 9mins after beaching the FIAT – meaning its championship advantage to Chilman and Walsh.
