Oliver Solberg is in cruise mode at the end of Day 3 of the RAC Rally after his nearest rival, Osian Pryce, was forced to retire at the start of Saturday’s procedure.
In the morning stages, Solberg was still out front, but McKenna and Pryce took equal fastest time through Dalbeattie. The top three fights intensify with Pritchard and McCormack tied for third as the Irishman loses time.
Then drama, Pryce reported parked up in Glengap 1. The crew is okay but out of the rally. A sad way to end for our Day 1 leaders of the event.
While Solberg was unstoppable, but the drama kept coming. An oil issue for McCormack gives the team some overnight work while Tuthill drops ten minutes with a puncture and jack issues in the final stage of the day. Ford retires in Glengap to reshape the leaderboard as we head into Kielder tomorrow.
There were also issues for Top Gear Presenter Chris Harris, who had to stop on S13 (Sweet Lamb) in his Porsche 911. As of writing this, he is still competing under the Super Rally rules.
