The Galway International Rally, the oldest rally in Ireland, will run in 2024 with the dates for the prestigious race confirmed.
Organisers of the Galway International Rally were delighted to share news of the return with equally ecstatic fans. The Galway International Rally will run on 3 and 4 February 2024 with The Connacht Hotel serving as headquarters for the rally.
After consultations with locals around the proposed route last month, hopes were high that Galway International Rally, first ran in 1971, would take its place on calendar after the 2024 edition was effectively cancelled in June 2023.
But on Thursday 1 December 2023, organisers of the Galway International Rally shared news of the return to rally action for the roads of Galway: “Rev up your engines, rally enthusiasts.
The rally was effectively cancelled in June 2023 when the Motor Sport Council (MSC) made the decision not to award a rally stage for 2024 to the motor-mad county.
