May Dunlop, Mother of road racing legends Joey & Robert Dunlop & grandmother of Michael and the late William Dunlop died peacefully yesterday.
In an article published by the Belfast Telegraph she spoke highly of her sons. Knowing the risks which road racing produced, it gave the sport worldwide fame locally.
“They were good sons and I loved them dearly,” says May. “I mean, time doesn’t heal. Joey’s (death) is like yesterday but you couldn’t have, you wouldn’t have told them to stop. That was their life.”
No further arrangements have been made. Thoughts and prayers are with the wider Dunlop Family at this time.
Sincerest condolences on the passing of May Dunlop. A lady who lived with great dignity throughout her long life. Very sad.
