With the new season fast approaching us let’s have a sneak preview of what to expect for the ITRC 2024 calendar!
Devine vs Moffett pt2?
There was no doubt Josh Moffett & Callum Devine stole the show in the rally scene in Ireland last year, but make no mistake about it this year will be competitive one again.

Josh Moffett will switch to a Citroen C3 Rally2 this season which that in itself is another fascinating element, he knew how to extract the maximum from his Hyundai i20 R5, given his competitive nature, it may well be seamless.
The Title Challengers
Derry’s Callum Devine (VW Polo GTi R5) begins the defence of his championship crown and along with regular rivals will have the added twin challenge of former British Rally champions Cork’s Keith Cronin and Welsh ace Matt Edwards, who have seven British titles between them, Cronin is also a former Irish Tarmac champion, the first to take the laurels in an R5 car (Citroen C3 R5) in 2016.

Money Up For Grabs
A prize fund worth in excess of €100k (£87k) will be up for grabs on rounds of the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship and the Irish National Rally Championship in the 2024 season, it had been announced earlier this year.

€9,500 (£8,300) will be proffered for each of the seven rounds that make up the Irish Rally Tarmac Championship and €5,500 (£4,800) for the southern-based National Rally Championship.
Money will be divided among the top three C3 Rally2 Trophy contenders, although one of the key stipulations is that they must be running on rubber supplied by tyre giant Michelin.
The Historic & Modified Championships
Be prepared for more sideways action from the historic & modified categories as it looks like once again it will be another competitive year from each respective championship!

Modified champion Eddie Doherty & Tom Murphy will be defending his titles while Duncan Williams & Guy Weaver will be looking to do the same in the historic event each driving Ford MK2 Escorts respectively.
