Frank and Lauren Kelly made a perfect start to their Irish Tarmac campaign after engine trouble hit Conor Murphy on Galway’s final stage.
At the start of Sundays Stages, Frank Kelly lead the modifieds by a slender 2.3 seconds after day one’s slippery stages.
The lead changed hands several times and the Kelly duo had a turn at the front but it came down to the last stage.
Conor and Sean had engine wows which gave Frank the edge on stage 14 to take the win and 11th overall in the event. This is their first national win since Tour of the Sperrins class win in May last year.
