George Lepley & Dale Bowen claim the season opener of the British Historic Rally Championship at the Riponian Stages in Yorkshire.

In the opening stage the drivers where delt with difficult conditions as the rain & mud made it tricky especially in historic machinery.

Mennell & Wise set the pace on stage however, an off in SS2 for Mennell hands Lepley the lead but there is an epic battle brewing.

At the halfway mark, that lead increased to over 20 seconds and the signs showed that they where very hungry to build it.

Elsewhere it proved to be a difficult day for Chris Ingram’s TR7 has had a few brake issues during the morning phase. Josh Carr/Osian Owen had control of Cat2 with a 36s advantage over Jeremy Easton/Mike Reynolds.

Lepley & Bowen remained in control all the way to the end as they won the event by nearly 40 seconds over their nearest challengers Matthew Robinson & Sam Collis. Adrian Hetherington & Ronan O’Neil took the final podium place.

Josh Carr & Osian Owen claimed the Cat2 win.
