Jonathan Greer preserved his perfect start to this year’s McGrady Insurance Northern Ireland Rally Championship with a win at Bishopscourt.
Having made a few sloppy mistakes early on, Greer stuck to the task in hand and managed to unlock some crucial extra speed from his car with small but important setup changes as he was in a tough battle with Aaron McLaughlin.
Greer got past eventual runner-up McLaughlin (Volkswagen Polo GTI R5) on the penultimate test as he traversed it nearly five seconds quicker to leapfrog him before recording another scratch time on the deciding run to safeguard the result and extend his winning streak at the short circuit to four.
Third went the way of Junior British Rally champions Kyle White and Sean Topping in their Hyundai i20 R5.
In the two-wheel-drive class, Barry Morris led home the pack despite being handicapped by a persistent misfire with his tricked-out Darrian T90m GTR.
Further down the leaderboard, Stephen Whiteford and Jonny Hart made up for their opening round retirement by emerging victorious in the one-make Micra Challenge support series from Jordan and Paul Hone.
