Elliot Payne continued his fine start to this year with victory in the 2024 Malcolm Wilson Rally.
In the Lake District as part of the BTRDA Protyre Rally Series, Elliot Payne and Patrick Walsh enjoyed a 38 second win over the Northern Irish pairing of Vivian Hamill and Lorcan Moore. Freddie Milne and Max Freeman took third in their Skoda Fabia.
After two of the night stages which took part on Friday night, the pair trailed six seconds back from Garry Pearson & Hannah McKillop and knew they where in for a tough fight.
However it didn’t seem to bother them as Payne and Walsh claimed stage wins in 3, 5 & 6. It looked like it was set for a final stage between Elliot & Pearson as the pair were trading fastest times however Pearson suffered mechanical issues and thus ending his challenge.
Elsewhere Ross Thompson took the Group N class and 10th overall while Greg McKnight took the 2WD class and 22nd overall.
