The local boys put on a stellar show as Josh Moffett took the win in this years Monaghan Stages Rally at the National Rally Championship.

In the end Josh not only took the win but it was double delight as he also win the Citroen C3 Trophy class.
After 6 stages Josh Moffett/Keith Moriarty lead Sam Moffett/James O’Reilly by just 1.1 seconds with Eddie Doherty/Tom Murphy a further 54.1 seconds behind in 3rd place.
Going into the penultimate stages and it was going to be a two horse race between Moffett brothers. In the end Josh managed to find another gear winning stages 7 & 8 by over 8 seconds respectively which proved to be the deciding factor in the rally.

Eddie Doherty and Tom Murphy in there Skoda Fabia R2 claimed a well deserved 3rd after an close battle with Jason Mitchell & Paddy McCrudden in there VW Polo GTI R5.

In the national class Daniel McKenna and Andrew Grennan claimed the class win in there Ford MK2 Escort and 7th overall.
