Matthew Hirst and Declan Dear capped off another superb weekend as not only they dominated the Welsh Rally Championship class but also edged out Elliot Payne and Patrick Walsh in the BTRDA National Class.
The pair capped off a dominant display at Wales for the second round of the Welsh Rally Championship winning the opening stage and not looking back in the process.
Rob Wilson/Martin Haggett claimed second while Russ Thompson/Stephen Link finished third.
For Hirst the main competition would be in the BTRDA category and he really showed his experience in the Welsh stages which included the iconic “Sweet Lamb” stage.
He recorded quickest times on 5 of the 7 speed tests to take the overall win by over a minute on Payne and Walsh. Rob Wilson/Martin Haggett took third in their Evo 7.
Next up for the BTRDA series is the Border Counties Rally on May 11th as for the Welsh Rally Championship its Plains Rally the following week (May 18th).
