Seb Perez and Gary McElhinney took a sensational BHRC win at the Rallynuts stages rally, their first in the championship and another Category 2 victory to their achievements also in the 911.
In the opening stages as the drivers struggle with the difficult Welsh conditions, it was Perez who set the pace in the morning session.
Higgins suffered brake issues in the TR7 on stage 3 allowing Perez to extend his overall lead. Elliott retired off the road on SS2 with just two tenths separating Mennell and Hetherington in 4th and 5th respectively.
Perez extended his lead again over Higgins on stage 5. But the fastest time went to Hetherington as that took him to 4th, while Lancaster moved up two places to sixth.
With the gap over 30 seconds between 1st and 2nd places it was always going to be difficult for Mark Higgins to catch up and in the end it was enough for Perez and McElhinney to take the win.
Higgins claimed second with the Category K win while Adrian Hetherington & Daniel Petrie took third and the Category 3 win. Rally North Wales Winners Nick Elliot and Dave Price had to retire there Fiat 131 on Stage 2.
