In the opening three races of this years North West 200 Glenn equalled the record for Superbikes wins at the famous triangle circuit while Richard Cooper won the Supersport race with Davy Todd rounding up the races with victory in the Superstock race.

Irwin started off the procedure with victory in the opening Superbikes race. His victory now equals the record of 9 with the Joey Dunlop.

By lap 1 Todd pulled away on the run to Juniper, but Irwin was right on his tail. And it showed by lap 3 with both riders smashed the lap record. Irwin pulled the move into Juniper and just manages to get his Ducati stopped to take the lead and the race win.

Chaos happened in the opening lap at the Supersport race with Adam McLean losing it into York corner and wiping out Davey Todd in the process.

This gave Richard Cooper is 1.2 seconds clear of Dunlop and Hickman to which he never looked back on to comfortably win the race with Hickman 2nd and Dunlop 3rd.

Davy Todd had the last laugh in the Superstock race though. Todd held off Dean Harrison for the majority of the race to secure the win by nearly 7 seconds over Harrison and Dunlop picking up his third podium of the evening.

The NW200 circus continues on Saturday where the majority of the races will be held on that day.
