Home » Higgins Claims Top Honours At Epynt Rally

In typically varied weather conditions the annual Tour of Epynt rally, organised by Port Talbot Motor Club, took place last weekend.

As a qualifying round of the prestigious Fuchs Lubricants British Historic Rally Championship, a top quality entry assembled for battle over seven timed tests on the asphalt roads of Mynydd Epynt.

As the predicted drizzle formed into steady and eventually heavy rain on Day 1, Higgins took charge, as he blasted through the opening stages.

On Day 2 with a far sunnier picture for the drivers and spectators, he was in a league of his own. He won the event by over a minute and twenty seconds faster than his nearest opposition. Nobody could touch the former British Rally Champion.

Perez claimed second and class two honours in his 911 while Neil Williams took the final podium position and class three honours as well in his MK2 Escort.
