Chris Ingram and co-driver Alex Kihurani clinched a decisive victory to further extend their championship lead at this year’s Rali Ceredigion (Event 1).

In what is a double header at the Welsh venue, their triumph was marked by a stellar performance, as they surged into the lead during the event’s opening stage and maintained their consistency to cross the finish line nearly 12 seconds ahead of their closest rivals Keith Cronin and Mikie Galvin. It is the pair’s third victory of the season so far.

Cronin and Galvin who claimed victory at the Ulster Rally showed remarkable tenacity throughout the rally, finishing 24 seconds ahead of Osian Pryce and Rhodri Evans, ultimately determining the final podium standings.

It was heartbreak for Jon Armstrong who just missed out on the podium positions by just one tenth of a second.

Earlier in the day it looked like James Williams was in the running to be a contender for a BRC podium, sadly he rolled his car in stage 4 and will not compete tomorrow.

In the overall event, Hayden Paddon left his European Rally Championship rivals for dead on the first full day of Rali Ceredigion, leading the event by a whopping 1m18.7s with title rival Mathieu Franceschi recovering from a poor start to be third overnight.

Ingram currently lies in second with ITRC leader Cronin in 5th and regaining ITRC Champion Callum Devine sitting in 7th place respectively.
