Josh Moffett got the better on his brother Sam and Eddie Doherty to claim vital national championship points in the Galway Summer Rally.
He finished the event with a margin of 11 seconds over Sam and a further 4 seconds ahead of Doherty in his trusty Hyundai i20 R5 machinery.
Daniel McKenna sealed the 2WD class on the Irish roads in the MK2 Escort as he also took the “King of the MK2” trophy as well.
It proved to be a competitive day for the leading trio as Josh Moffett along with co-driver Keith Moriaty took the opening 3 stages.
By this stage Josh was 6 seconds ahead of Sam. He would go on to win stages 5 & 6 with Sam claiming stage 7 with Doherty winning stage 8 and Josh picking up a win on stage 9.
A hard earned win with vital points going into the final round at Donegal on October 12th. Championship leader Daniel Cronin was off the pace in his Polo GTI R5 and finished 5th overall.
