Bouncing back from a Race 1 DNF Bulega made it a perfect Sunday, with Petrucci on the podium again and Gerloff achieving his first top three result on the BMW.

Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) was peerless in Race 2 of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship at the Motul French Round, leading from start to finish to complete a perfect day.

Reacting to his Saturday afternoon crash at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours in style, Bulega followed up on a fantastic Tissot Superpole Race win with a 2.3s victory over second placed Danilo Petrucci (Barni Spark Racing Team), who took his third podium of the weekend.

Additionally Championship Leader Toprak Razgatlioglu star came off his bike at Turn 14 on his first flying lap in Free Practice 2, and, after evaluation had been ruled out of the French Round to massively decrease the gap at the top of the championship.

The 2024 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship’s final race day at Magny-Cours took place without six-time World Champion Jonathan Rea (Pata Prometeon Yamaha), who fell at the last chicane on Lap 1 in Race 1 on Saturday.

Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) took no part in the Motul French Round after a crash in the Tissot Superpole Race. The defending Champion had been hoping to make early gains in the 10-lap race after starting from P17 for the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship race, but a crash on Lap 1 at Turn 7.
