Petter Solberg made a return back to Irish gravel to claim the win in the Defender Series at Clare.
As part of the Clare Forestry Rally, Solberg who was partnered with John Tomley for the event claimed a 15 second win over there nearest rivals Mark Thomas & Philip Mackay.
It was the perfect victory for the former WRC champion, taking all the stage wins in there class and finishing a respectable 24th overall in the defender.
Solberg last competed in Ireland in 2007 when the Rally Ireland was added to the World Rally Championship after two years as a national event. He finished fifth.
