James Fulton and Mike Chen are competing for Craig Breen at the Monza Rally Show. The pair will drive a tribute livery of a Hyundai i30 this weekend at the Italian motor event.
This isn’t the first time this has happened. Mike Chen and Sean Hassett competed at last years Raven’s Rock Rally in honour of Breen. The pair were in a Skoda S2000 kindly provided by Andy Fanning who again was another close friend to Craig Breen.
James Fulton partnered with Craig in the early stages of 2023 finishing second overall alongside Breen at Rally Sweden in February of that year. After the accident he teamed up with Kris Meeke, guiding him to the Portuguese Rally title this season.
At Monza, champions, teams, and cars from the World Rally Championship will take the stage in spectacular special stages and compete in the Masters’ Show on Sunday. Spectators will have the chance to admire cars like the Hyundai i20 N Rally1 Hybrid, the Ford Puma Rally1 Hybrid, and the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 Hybrid.
This is a unique opportunity to get up close to the stars of rallying, including the newly crowned WRC World Champion Thierry Neuville driving the Hyundai i20 N Rally1 Hybrid, WRC2 Champion Sami Pajari with the Toyota GR Yaris, and the eight-time world champion Sebastien Ogier, returning to Monza with the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 Hybrid.
Also competing are renowned drivers such as Spain’s Dani Sordo for Hyundai and France’s Adrien Formaux with the Ford Puma Rally1 Hybrid. To make the event even more special, Jari-Matti Latvala, team principal of Toyota Gazoo Racing, will return to the track, donning his helmet and racing suit for the occasion.
Adding even more excitement to the event, the Monza Rally Show will feature top international and national drivers, including Sami Pajari, WRC2 Champion, Hayden Paddon, European Rally Champion, and Andrea Crugnola, four-time Italian Rally Champion.
The lineup also includes Nikolay Gryazin, third in the WRC2 championship, Bostjan Avbelj, Alberto Dall’Era, and Alessandro Perico. Notable participants include Rachele Somaschini, winner of the 2024 Tour European Rally, and the duo Matteo and Luigi Fontana, nephew and grandfather, competing in an intriguing generational showdown.
