Four time Welsh Rally Champ Matthew Hirst has registered for the upcoming British Rally Championship this year.
Predominantly a gravel surface-favoured driver, Hirst will tackle the tarmac of Yorkshire alongside long-term Co-Driver Declan Dear, at the Closed-Roads East Riding Stages Rally, the opening round of the 2025 Probite British Rally Championship.
Partway through their 2024 campaign they switched from the Ford Fiesta to a Skoda Fabia, pretty much getting to grips with the new chariot from the first turn of the wheel, on their way to securing their record-breaking back-to-back fourth Welsh titles.
Hirst will be aiming to mix it up in the BRC at least for the opening two rounds and will take it from there. Following the Asphalt at the East Riding in Yorkshire, the more familiar World-Class Welsh gravel at the Severn Valley Stages awaits in April for Round 2.
Hirst & Dear will also continue to fight it out in the BTRDA and Welsh Championships this season in their Delta Salvage Skoda Fabia run by JD Rallysport.
