William Creighton and Liam Regan took a comprehensive win at East Riding Stages to take maximum points in the opening round of the British Rally Championship.

Taking no time to get up to speed with the Toyota, Creighton and Liam Regan lead the rally by 18.7 seconds in the opening stages. Keith Cronin and Mikie Galvin in a C3 Rally2 after a slow start on SS1 climb up the ranks into second and James Williams and Ross Whittock hold third in their Hyundai i20.
The heavens came down in Yorkshire at the halfway point. Not only will it be a battle of the crews, but the tyre teams will also have their work cut out this afternoon in the fight for supremacy.
Creighton continued his march but it was all gathering nicely close behind especially for the other two podium spots.
The Northern Irish driver kept his cool to claim the win in his new Toyota Yaris Rally2 car to kick start is championship campaign in fine style.
Keith Cronin and Mikie Galvin opened their account with a fine second overall in the new Citroen C3 Rally2. This was their sixth different car and 17th podium in the modern era of the BRC (since 2016) showing their versatility in four-wheel-drive machinery.
After a disappointing 2024, James Williams and Ross Whittock return to the podium to open their BRC account with a fine third overall.
Max McRae and Cameron Fair started the rally in fine form, sitting in the top six, but on SS4 the pair left the road and visited the scenery. Both crew stepped out of the car, but McRae has taken himself off to hospital as a precaution – to check out his arm.
James Ford and Neil Shanks also had a moment as the pair went off on SS1. The crew however were all ok. Kyle McBride took the win in the junior class in his 208.
