The nine stage Circuit of Kerry begins Sunday morning, with the first car due to leave Tralee at 7.30am.

It was a day to remember for David Travers as he claimed his very first MIJRS event victory as he took the spoils on last weekend’s Carlow Forest Rally, the second round of the 2025 MIJRS J1000 series and the first full length rally event for the youngest competitors in the sport.

With twenty-seven registered competitors taking to the stages, all between the ages of 14 and 18, on the opening round, it bodes well for what is set to be an incredibly tight battle right across the season

In Class 2, points leader Cian Caldwell and former MIJRS winner Jack Brennan have elected to miss the event, opening the door to rivals such as Tommy Moffett, Ben McFall and Jack Harris to score big and really begin to build a points tally for the season. Oran England and Dan Nash will be looking to put disappointing retirements on the opening day behind them.

The flowing stage of the Southwest should be an incredible experience for some of the less experienced members of the MIJRS fold, with Robert Cronin and Jack Byrne improving upon the experience of the Midland Stages, while newcomer Dean Murphy will compete on Tarmac for the very first time!

In Class 2A we have an incredible four-way duel in prospect, with the chasing pack hunting Jack Kennedy who leads the points standings.

Darragh Kelly was unlucky to lose the win last time out on the final stage so will be looking to make a mark, Ross Ryan showed great pace but was punished for a small error in Longford while Tommy Furlong will be looking to prove his pace against his great friends and rivals.
