A Public Funeral Service was held at the Llanpumsaint Church at 1pm on Friday 27th June 2025, with the family requesting those attending to wear a touch of blue.

Dai had a career spanning over 22 years in the sport at both national and international level. As well as getting the thrill of competition in the navigator seat, he enjoyed rallying his Peugeot 205.

Roberts, 39, who was competing in the Jim Clark Rally, was pronounced dead at the scene near Duns in the Scottish Borders on Saturday morning.

James Williams who Roberts was co driving at the event survived and was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment for injuries described at the time as serious but not life-threatening.

A fundraising appeal for the family of the co-driver passed over the £150,000 mark. Fellow competitors Damian Cole and John Stone launched a fundraising the week after the accident to help Roberts’ family, setting themselves a target of £100,000, but they’ve gone on to raise more than half again as much as that.
