Competing on the Down Rally for the first time will be current leaders of the Historic Cup section of the Protyre championship, Andrew O’Hanlon and Kevin Hogan, who will be entering in their Classic Mini Cooper S.
Regular competitors on the Mini Cup Series organised by the Historic Rally Car Register, the crew are this year also tackling the Protyre Motorsport UK asphalt rally championship and with a 3rd place on the East Ridiing Stages and then taking maximum points on the last round.
The Argyll Rally, this gives the pair just a 2 point lead over the Escort RS 1600 of Mark Holmes/Jonathan Cragg. With Holmes entering a very non-historic Fiesta R5 on the Down Rally, Andrew/Kevin are hoping to widen the gap but face some stern opposition from the larger engined cars in Class H11.
