Baby Blue came up with the goods again as Frank & Lauren took their MK2 Escort to the top at RSC Rallye Wildetaube.
They won the rally outright in an event which was presented Evo’s and R5s and had to push on the tarmac sections to make up what we lost on the gravel parts.
Letting the Millington stretch her legs was the key for the pair and it was enough for the pair to get the victory.
This has been a string of European success in recent weeks as Frank and Lauren Kelly just missed out on the defence of their 2022 Escort Rally Special victory, finishing nine seconds behind first-time winners Chris O’Callaghan and J.J. Cremin.
The reigning champions were up against it. 37 seconds down, Frank needed a ferocious fightback. Somehow it just took two tests for the Kellys to move into the lead of the Belgian-based event. At Escort Rally Special’s halfway point they led Chris O’Callaghan and Rob Duggan by 12 and 27 seconds respectively.
Despite their best efforts Frank and Lauren couldn’t push Chris and J.J. off the top spot with the pair only separated by nine seconds after the 14th and final stage.
