Jamie Chadwick led at Road America from start to finish on Sunday to become the first woman to win on a road course in Indy NXT; Chadwick, who is in her second campaign, qualified on pole and won despite a red flag close to the end of the race.

The 26-year-old converted pole position to victory to win the Indy NXT race at Road America on Sunday. Chadwick, who won the now defunct W Series three times, joined Indy NXT’s Andretti Global team in 2023.

The race was red-flagged with four laps to go, but Chadwick staved off a final charge by Foster and Abel, who are the top two contenders for the 2024 Indy NXT championship.

Her win was the first by a female driver in the series since fellow Briton Pippa Mann at the Kentucky Speedway in 2010.

Chadwick’s previous best finish in the series was a third place last month on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. She finished 12th in the 2023 points standings with a best finish of sixth as a rookie.
