Defending Welsh Rally Champion Matthew Hirst claimed his third BTRDA win of the season with victory at Rally Yorkshire.
Hirst and Dear took a dominate victory winning every stage on the way to a 38.9s lead over last years winner Elliot Payne along side Patrick Walsh. However a second place finish was more than enough for Payne to succesfully defend his BTRDA title.
Daníel Sigurðarson and Ásta Sigurðardóttir rounded out the podium, but were 1:15.4 off the leaders.
It would be Hirst’s first win in the BTRDA Series since June where he won at Kielder as Payne still leads in the championship standings.
Elsewhere Jack Bean and Patrick Amey took the victory after claiming two stage wins helped them to a winning margin of 47.1s over Danny Hedges and Ashley Wilcock.
In class R53 Mark Jones and Mick Munday took three stage wins and the other was second place on the way to class victory by a commanding 2:01.9 margin.
In Class R50 Julian Fouquet and Julia Perry took a class stage win on every stage on their way to a 1:31.2 class win.
