Donegal International Rally winners Callum Devine and Noel O’Sullivan were victorious at the Donegal Harvest Rally while Josh Moffett claimed this years National Rally Championship.
The Donegal International Rally winner Devine set the early pace on the Harvest Mini Stages Rally. Behind him was Sam Moffett in the Hyundai I30 while in third place was Desi Henry while driving a Citroen C3 Rally 2.
In the Championship battle Daniel Cronin had to retire the car on Stage 7 while Eddie Doherty suffered issues on Stage 5 and was effectively out of the running.
This left the two Moffett brothers and it was Josh and Keith Moriarty who made their move at the halfway stage. Being more consistent in his older and reliable Hyundai, Josh tackled the tricky and slippery conditions better than Sam who he himself had problems on Stage 7.
With a second place finish it was enough for the pair to successfully retain the National Drivers Title, 12 seconds behind the overall winner Callum Devine.
Remarkably, third spot in the Donegal Harvest Rally was a tie between Michael Boyle and Desi Henry. Kevin Gallagher won the modified section in his Darrian in what would be a remarkable season for the Donegal man.
