The Asset Alliance Group Scottish Rally Championship switches from the gravel to the tarmac for round 2 of the 2025 season, the Border Competitions Jim Clark Reivers Rally.

3rd on round 1, 2024 Reivers winners Euan Thorburn & Paul Beaton are back to defend their title in their VW Polo. Winners by just 4 seconds 12 months ago, it looks like they will be pushed hard in Euan’s home patch once again.
Among those challengers are Speyside winners David Bogie & John Rowan, back in their Skoda Fabia. Already a 5-time Reivers winner, David has form on these roads. 9th in their MK2 last year, it’ll be interesting to see how they re-acclimatise to 4wd on the tar.
There are a couple of rapid locals stepping in to mix it with the SRC registered crews. Former Scottish champion Garry Pearson teams up with his regular BRC navigator Hannah McKillop for an assault on the Reivers in a Ford Fiesta, rekindling his big local rivalry with fellow Duns man Thorburn.
6th last year, Duns man Dale Robertson also returns in a Rally 2 Fiesta, navigated by reigning Scottish Navigator’s Champion Keir Beaton.

Locals Ian Baumgart & Simon Mills top the Impreza ranks, just in front of Duns crew Max & Callum Redpath.
Gordon Morrison & Mike Dickson top the G&M Mechanical Services 2wd ranks with their absolute beast of an Escort, Montana already a 2wd winner on this year’s Manx.
In the front-wheel-drive ranks, the Tuer brothers are out in their F2 Astra, sure to be rapid on these roads. There is a continuation of the permanent MG ZR battle between Alan Scott, joined for this round by Eoghan Anderson, and Niall Cowan Jnr & Gail Whyte. So far, it’s 1-0 to Alan after round 1.
