In a drama filled opening stage at Rally North Wales, Nick Elliott & Dave Price lead the way. Just two seconds separate them from Chilman/Walsh with Gough/Morris third a further three behind.

Perez/McElhinney was flying in their 911 to have a strong hold of Category2 and an impressive 4th o/a. With the cancellation of SS5 crews head into SS6. Chilman & Walsh lead the event with three stages remaining.

Going into the final nothing much changed at the top. However Elliott/Price moved into second as Gough/Morris dropped time in SS7 and where slipping into Pritchard/Clarke’s clutches. Perez/McElhinney also drop out of fourth but retain the Cat2 lead over Mike Stuart/Sinky Young.

Everything to play for in the final stage.

In the end it was a comfortable win the Chilmand and Walsh who won the event by over 30 seconds with Elliott & Price finishing 2nd and the defending champion Jason Pritchard competing in his first event of the season with co-driver Phil Clarke nabbing 3rd off Robert Gough & Paul Morris by just 3 seconds in their RS1800.

There was drama in the Cat2 class with Perez/McElhinney who led the event for the majority of the day in their Porsche 911 suffering from mechanical mishap on the final stage which handed victory to Mike Stuart & Sinclair Young in their MK1 Escort.
