Marco Bezzecchi beat championship leader and fellow Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia into second place at the Dutch GP, with Fabio Quartararo taking a surprise podium for Yamaha.
Though Bezzecchi briefly lost the lead from pole position, the man who had dominated the entire weekend was soon back past Bagnaia. And the reigning world champion, who had started second, had no answer.
The result consolidates Bezzecchi’s hold on third in the standings, with Bagnaia still leading Pramac Ducati’s Jorge Martin.

Italy’s Francesco Bagnaia won the Dutch Grand Prix to extend his lead in the MotoGP championship.
The 26-year-old defending champion controlled Sunday’s race at the Assen circuit for a fourth win of the season.
Compatriot and fellow Ducati rider Marco Bezzecchi was second and Spain’s Aleix Espargaro completed the podium.
South Africa’s Brad Binder was penalised for exceeding track limits on the final lap and demoted from third to fourth after the race.
Binder, 27, was penalised for the same rule infringement on Saturday, dropping from third to fifth in the sprint race which was won by 24-year-old Bezzecchi.
Elsewhere Six-time MotoGP champion Marc Marquez was declared unfit to race after it was confirmed he had sustained two broken ribs and a broken thumb in a fall during qualifying.
And Honda MotoGP boss Alberto Puig has suggested that Marc Marquez would be free to leave the team despite the four-year deal he signed in 2020.
Fabio Quartararo slid into the Pramac Ducati of Johann Zarco on lap 12. He expects to have surgery after “further displacing” a fractured toe in a Dutch TT MotoGP crash that also left him with a twisted elbow.
