Max McRae To Tackle Cambrian Rally

0

Max McRae will end his debut European season on high this weekend when he takes to the Cambrian Rally in a Rally2 Skoda Fabia R5.

McRae took to his debut European Rally Championship season in an Opel Corsa Rally4 in the Junior component, and impressed with his pace despite results not going his way, with a mix of mechanical and driver-error bringing him undone against a seasoned European field.

The 19-year-old nephew of WRC rally great Colin McRae and son of Alister McRae will now revisit the Welsh woods where his Colin was crowned world champion, and his father secured the British championship 28 years ago.

Only this time the WA born rally driver will step up in machinery and power in the Fabia R5, switching front wheel drive for the four wheel drive turbo charged machinery.

The future WRC Junior hopeful will also be without his regular co-driver in Mac Kierans, but has some fairy handy experience stepping into the Skoda next to him in the form of the recently crowned ERC3 champion, Cameron Fair.
