With famous stages such as Dyfi, Gartheiniog and Dyfnant on offer, the BHRC competitors will be tested to the limit in a one-day blast through challenging forests in the heart of Wales.

From its Welshpool rally base, eight stages and 45 miles make up the schedule for the day and a healthy list of entrants will be vying for category, class, and overall honours this weekend.

Top seeds George Lepley and Dale Bowen will be the contenders with targets on their backs as the Mitsubishi Galant VR4 crew are fresh from round one victory in Yorkshire last month.

Lepley produced a masterclass of a drive in difficult conditions, putting the four-wheel drive Mitsubishi to good use in the thick mud. It was his second BHRC victory of his career and the young ace will be looking to make that a hat trick by Saturday evening.

Championship leaders Matthew Robinson and Sam Collis are ready to capitalise on a maximum score at the opening round of the season in their Ford Escort MKII.

Nick Elliott will have his sights set on bringing his FIAT 131 Abarth home higher than the fifth place he and co-driver Dave Price took at the Riponian and have the benefit of being former event winners in their FIA Category K example.

The Porsche 911 of Seb Perez returns to the BHRC in Wales and heads the Category Two. Ben Friend and Cliffy Simmons just missed out on an overall podium at round one but enjoyed a strong start to the season as they return after a year away in their Ford Escort MKII.
