Jos Verstappen To Make BRC Rally Debut

0

Former F1 driver Jos Verstappen will participate in the Rallynuts Severn Valley Stages, the second round of the British Rally Championship Probite, on April 13.

Verstappen, father of F1 champion Max Verstappen, will make his debut in both the BRC and the UK. This will be the first time he faces the renowned gravel roads of Wales. He will drive a Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 alongside his regular co-driver Renaud Jamoul.

Verstappen acknowledged that he only started rallying two years ago and mainly focused on asphalt events. However, after two test sessions in southern France, he and Jamoul decided to tackle their first real gravel rally. They believe Wales is the ideal location for their debut due to Jamoul’s positive memories of the rally.

Verstappen made over 100 grand prix appearances during his own career, and then turned to rallying in 2022.

He has enjoyed reasonable success, winning three of his past five events, with the majority of his rallying having been on Belgian stages, and the Rallynuts event will be Verstappen Sr’s first outside mainland Europe and his first ever on gravel.
