He has a 16.2 second lead over last year’s winner Callum Devine who gained 7.8 seconds on Edwards during Saturday’s final stage around Lough Keel.

Cathan McCourt lost time on stage 14 which enabled Merion Evans to move up to third. Donegal Town’s David Kelly has moved into the top five at the end of Day 2.

Matt Edwards has picked up where he left off on Friday with the fastest time over Knockalla. Meirion Evans was only half a second off the Welshman’s benchmark to move up to fourth.

David Kelly bounced back from trouble on Knockalla to record his first stage win in Donegal to stay in the mix for fourth overall. Matt Edwards and Callum Devine both beat Garrygort’s bogey time meaning Edwards keeps a 13.9-second lead at Saturday’s halfway point.

Callum Devine’s Donegal defence took a hit on High Glen as a spin and stall costs him over ten seconds. Matt Edwards survived a moment on a jump to set the fastest time and extend his overall lead.

An incredible 0.3 seconds separated Meirion Evans, Josh Moffett, and David Kelly on stage eleven in the race for fourth.

Callum Devine claimed the final stage which he took 7.8 seconds out of Matt Edwards’ lead on Saturday’s slippery Lough Keel finale. A spin for Cathan McCourt has cost him third as Meirion Evans moves onto the podium for Sunday.

Defending Donegal winners Michael McDaid and Declan Casey hold a 16.4-second lead after Saturday’s eight stages. A fastest time on Lough Keel has kept Tommy O’Connell and Paul Hughes in the hunt.
