Italy’s Enea Bastianini won his home race by claiming victory in the Italian Grand Prix at Emilia-Romagna.
Bastianini, 26, overtook Pramac Racing’s Jorge Martin in the final lap to give Ducati their 100th MotoGP victory.
By finishing second, Martin extended his lead in the championship standings by 24 points. It is Bastianini’s second win of the year, having also triumphed at the British Grand Prix last month.
Defending champion Francesco Bagnaia – Bastianini’s Ducati team-mate – crashed out with seven laps remaining.
Spain’s Marc Marquez, of Gresini Racing, finished third to lose further ground in his quest to win a seventh MotoGP title. The 15th of 20 races in the season takes place next Sunday in Indonesia.
