Round one of the FUCHS UK BHRC kicks off this weekend as we head for the traditional curtain raiser – the Riponian Stages Rally.

New challengers and changes have been included for the 2025 season so why don’t we take a look and see what is to be offered for Sunday’s event.

Points are allocated in each Category rather than overall. The BHRC champion will be the crew with the highest category points at the end of the season. Effectively meaning any contender in any class can be the BHRC champion.

The likes of F2 Kit Cars and Group A/N 4WD machinery registered from 1991 to 1999 are now eligible to compete and six rounds form the series, with 5 best scores to count. The Argyll Rally offers 1.5X points.

There is a new format this year using Boltby Forest, Cropton and Gale Rigg (again using the closed road section) to offer 44 stage miles from three stages run twice. The Thirsk Rural Business Centre will be the base of the event throughout the rally weekend.

George Lepley leads the seedings in his Mitsubishi Galant VR4. Showing potential last year, the car was hampered with reliability issues. Hopefully things will go a bit better in 2025.

With Seb Perez not opting to compete at this event, potentially we can see new faces at the top of the podium in both Historic 1 and 2 classes.

Baz Jordan, Matthew Robinson to name but a few along with veterans Adrian Hetherington and Ben Friend to join in the fun.

The scene will be set this Sunday as 6 stages awaits them as what it promises to be another competitive year in the British Historic Rally Championship.
