The Carlisle Stages Rally was added to the 2025 calendar, replacing the cancelled Severn Valley Stages and the Carlisle-based event will serve as round two of the season.

The unforgiving, technical and super-fast ditch-lined tests in the English and Scottish Borders have long been the showcase for epic battles for championship glory. Now reintroduced to the series, the Carlisle Stages Rally seamlessly fills the gap left by the Severn Valley Stages.

It offers 50 miles of competitive action in well-known stages such as Kershope and Ash Park, incorporating scenic finish celebrations in front of the picturesque Kielder Castle.

Keith Cronin and Mikie Galvin will resume their challenge for the Probite Brakes British Rally Championship when they line up on Saturday for the Carlisle Stages

The first British championship round of the year, the East Riding Rally in Yorkshire, saw Cronin and Galvin finish second on what was their debut in the M O’Brien Group of Companies/Shane Casey Electrical Services Citroën C3 Rally 2.

William Creighton and Liam Regan took the victory laurels on that occasion to which he will be looking to continue his momentum at the top step once again.

2004 British Rally Champion David Higgins makes a shock return to the Probite British Rally Championship in 2025, driving a Ford Fiesta R2T in the yourbrandhere.org / Ignition Motorsport Rally Team.

In an unexpected move, the Manx-born ace will make a comeback at the Carlisle Stages, driving a front-wheel-drive machine competitively for the first time since the early 2000’s and will have Keith Jones back in the co-driver’s seat.
