Alex Marquez ended his brother Marc’s run of seven straight race wins as he secured victory at their home MotoGP Grand Prix in Catalonia.

Marc – who has won 10 of the previous 14 Grands Prix this season – had won Saturday’s sprint race after Alex had crashed when in the lead with four laps to go.
The 29-year-old did not make the same mistake in the main race, though, having qualified on pole position.
Championship leader Marc had started third on the grid but did overtake Alex and second placed Frenchman Fabio Quartararo on his Ducati at the first corner.
Alex, who is still 182 points behind his brother in the race for the title, took back first place on lap four and held on until the chequered flag.
Italy’s Enea Bastianini was third, earning his first podium finish of the year on his KTM. The riders travel to San Marino’s Misano circuit next weekend. Marc cannot take the championship crown at the event.
