Pritchard Shines At Carlisle/Chilman Takes 2023 Title

Jason Pritchard and Phil Clarke produced a storming Saturday afternoon to take victory at final round of the FUCHS UK British Historic Rally Championship.

With the opening two stages on Friday cancelled due to the bad weather, everything was up for grabs for the Saturday Session especially for the championship battle.

It was however Gareth James and Dan Petrie who set the pace in the BHRC on stage 1 who opened up a 5 second lead over Pritchard/Clarke.

There was drama for Nick Elliott and Dave Price who lost 9mins after beaching the FIAT – meaning its championship advantage to Roger Chilman and Patrick Walsh.

From that moment on Chilman and Walsh just needed to keep their car intact to the finish line and the championship was theirs.

As the stages progressed Pritchard pounced he moved into the lead. And he maintained that lead all the way to the end.

A fine display for the former BHRC Champions who in the end where only 14 seconds behind Meeke/O’Sullivan and finished third overall in the event.

Roger Chilman and Patrick Walsh took third which more than enough to secure the title while Nick Elliott and Dave Price had a day to forget when they had to retire the car after stage 7.

Josh Carr was the 2023 Category Two Champion while his co-driver Mike Reynolds captured the Category Two co-drivers title!
