Michael Dunlop has become the first rider to be crowned MCN Rider of the Year three times in a row after coming out on top of the public vote to secure the accolade for 2025.

The Ballymoney man won four races at the Isle of Man TT, claiming doubles in the Supersport and Supertwin classes and finishing a close second in the Superbike race to Davey Todd.
Dunlop sealed Ducati’s first wins at the TT in 30 years after making the switch to a V2 Panigale from a Yamaha R6 in the Supersport class and has now won TT races with a record seven different manufacturers (Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki, BMW, Paton and Ducati).
He also returned to the top step at the North West 200 for the first time in eight years, sealing a treble with victories in the Superbike, Superstock and Supersport races.
The MCN award has been won by legendary riders over the years, including Giacomo Agostini, Mike Hailwood, Barry Sheene, Joey Dunlop and Valentino Rossi, but 33-time TT winner Dunlop has made history by claiming the honour three years in a row.
World Superbike champion Toprak Razgatlioglu was second in the public poll after retaining the title for BMW, while Scott Redding came in third in the voting after making a winning return to the British Superbike Championship from World Superbikes with the PBM Ducati team.
Dunlop is a leading contender to retain the Irish Motorcyclist of the Year title at the Irish Motorbike Awards in Belfast in January.
